Product development and guide review are credited to Captum Records and AS Mastering. Spectraforge Audio publishes Silk and these guides, and provides product support through info@spectraforgeaudio.com.
Start with a specific mixing decision
Silk is for a source that already works but needs a more open top end. Air Lift shapes the enhancement, Width adjusts the side image, and De-Harsh manages upper-mid sharpness. Its behaviour depends on the engine version described in the manual.
Make the change easy to judge
Auto Gain helps compare the processed and unprocessed sound at a similar perceived level. Bypass, A/B settings, and analyzer feedback let you check the move as you work.
Explain when to back off
The Silk manual includes what to listen for and when to use less of each control. Splashy cymbals, detached vocal esses, or a less focused center are reasons to reconsider a setting.
Software you can keep working with.
Silk is a one-time purchase for your personal machines. After its initial activation, audio processing and licence checks run locally. Your purchase covers the licensed version family; future paid major upgrades are separate. The purchase includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.

How we make the guides
Spectraforge Audio publishes these guides for musicians and producers making decisions in their own sessions. Each guide focuses on a specific question, a comparison you can repeat, and what to do with the result.
Drafting, revision and source checks use AI assistance. Technical references identify the manuals or standards behind documented claims, including relevant software versions. The current 61-guide collection received an AI editorial review followed by human review for publication, confirmed on 2 October 2026.
Listening exercises are suggestions for your session. Worked examples are labelled calculations or hypothetical setups, rather than measurements of our plugins or reports of firsthand listening tests. Silk tutorials distinguish engine versions, and archive audio with unrecorded settings is not evidence of the current engine.
